Predictum Sunburst Plot Add-In for JMP
Overview
The Sunburst Plot add-in is an extension of JMP software that enables you to create a sunburst-style plot of nested pie charts to represent proportional contributions of hierarchical data in a JMP data table. A sunburst plot can help with decision making and in making presentations to stakeholders.
How to Use
- Open JMP software and install the Sunburst Plot add-in.
- Open an example data table from the Help > Sample Data Folder within JMP that contains a column defined with the numeric data type and continuous modeling type for the Y axis and a minimum of two columns of categorical variables for the X axis. Or alternatively, use one of your own data tables. See the Sunburst Plot Add-in User Guide for details about column formats that would work best with the add-in.
- Open Graph > Sunburst Plot menu option.
- In the Sunburst Plot Specifications dialog, define the following:
- One Y column defined with the numeric data type and continuous modeling type
- A minimum of two (2) X columns containing categorical variables
- Optional: A By column for generating multiple sunburst plots grouped by each unique value
- Choose a plot configuration option for how you want to subdivide the angles of the pie chart segments in the sunburst plot.
- Click OK.The Sunburst Plot window appears, showing a sunburst plot based on your selections. If you defined a By column, multiple sunburst plots are displayed in the window. The legend shows the range of color-coded Y values.
